STEEPLECHASING has taken
place at Stratford Racecourse since 1755. Nowadays, we have 18 meetings
a year, most of which take place within the summer months. Equipped
with a new glass-fronted Grandstand (opened in 1997) and having won a
major award for the care of the racetrack, we are proud to be in the
top flight of Britain's smaller courses.
Dress
Code for Stratford Racecourse:
A
day at the races is an occasion where smart dress is very much
encouraged.
In the Club Enclosure jackets and ties are not obligatory, but
racegoers wearing scruffy/ripped denim, beachwear, unduly casual,
trainers or extreme attire will not gain entry.
Racegoers in the Tattersalls Enclosure usually dress respectably. Smart
shorts and jeans are acceptable but no bare tops or singlets please.
Dress in the Centre Course/Picnic area is, as you wish.
It is important to dress for the weather and to be aware that some
areas of the course involve walking on grass where shoes with a sturdy
or flat heel are a practical choice.
Dressing up is encouraged for racemeetings such as the Pertemps Cup
Meeting and Ladies Day.
To save embarrassment, please ensure that all members of your party are
aware of the dress code requirements at Stratford Racecourse.
